"How to protect yourself and seek help in case of emergencies while taking metro?" "Where are the emergency equipment and facilities in metro?" On March 27, on the National Safety Education Day for primary and secondary students, to promote safety knowledge and enhance passengers' safety awareness, BJMTR and Songjiazhuang station police station jointly held the "Metro Little Guardian" career experiencing activity. Nearly 30 students from Fengtai Experimental Primary School of Beijing Academy of Education Sciences came to Puhuangyu station of Line 14 operated by BJMTR to learn the knowledge of safe and courteous travel with the staff and experience the daily work of metro staff.
On the day of the activity, BJMTR staff led the students to visit the station and learn about various equipment and facilities in the station, especially the use of emergency equipment, and the knowledge of in-station emergency evacuation. They also learned how to communicate with station employees through the emergency call button in case of difficulties, when to use the elevator emergency stop button, and the location and function of the station's AED. The students observed and listened while asking questions to the metro staff.
During the activity, the students also became " Metro Safety Little Guardian" and carried out practical activities in groups under the leading of station staff to experience different work such as security check, ticket purchase explanation, platform order maintenance, and safety guidance of taking the lift. The "Metro Safety Little Guardian" applied the knowledge to interpret the understanding of metro travel and the advocacy of the concept of safety and courtesy from their own unique perspectives.
